About

Katja Rochat was born and raised in Switzerland where she started dancing at the age of ten at Ecole de Danse Julie Duruisseau. After attending multiple summer intensives at institutions such as Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, De Dutch Summer Course, and La Scala Di Milano, she was accepted into the pre-professional program at the Orlando Ballet where she trained with Olivier Munoz and Dierdre Miles Burger. Katja will be graduating from Point Park University this upcoming spring with honors and a BA in dance as well as a minor in education. Throughout her time at Point Park, she has worked with renowned teachers such as Garfield Lemonius, Jason McDole, Kiesha Lalama, Susan Stowe, Judith Leifer-Bentz and Jay Kirk. Additionally, Katja had the opportunity to perform in works done by Pearlann Porter and Ernest Tolentino. During her free time, you’ll find Katja traveling around the globe, learning a new language, improving in random spaces, and giving the warmest hugs to anybody in need.
